Peptide marked with 99 technetium - for rapid visualisation of organs and bones

A marked peptide for use as a diagnostic agent consists of the amino acid chain NH2-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Arg-Try-Gly-CONH2 (I) and 99Tc, the peptide having characteristic peaks at 220, 267, 283, and 290 nm. The isotope becomes localised more rapidly after injection, usually within 10 mins., whereas using technetium pyrophosphate or phosphonate this can take up to 3 hours.
