<p>A method of assembling a vehicle clutch includes forming a sub assembly of a coupling cover and a plate spring with with a number of radially inwards directed tongues, the spring being fixed to the coupling cover by a number of projections near the radial outer ends of the tonques. The projections extend from the cover through slots between adjacent teeth enclosing the plate spring, the plate spring being flattened and each projection being bent radially outwards, using a forming tool. The coupling cover (11) is pre-shaped with parallel projections (17) to the plate spring (16) axis, and each projection (17) at the point where it passes back through the plate spring (16) is held against a radially inwards directed displacement whilst being bent radially outwards.</p> |
