Hoist for roofing materials - has trolley movable along roof mounted rails and carrying skip raised to roof by winch

The hoist has a winch which lifts a skip (44) vertically from the ground to eaves level. At this point the skip is drawn onto the trolley which then moves on rails over the eaves and up the roof slope. A motorised winch with a cable and pulley wheels is used to mobilise the hoist and eventually the trolley. The rails which guide the trolley are divided into two lengths with a curved rail length extending over the eaves and a straight length following the roof slope. The trolley has two pairs of flanged wheels which sit on the rails and four wheels which engage the underside of the rails. The rails are mounted on inverted U-shaped members secured to the roof.
