<p>The irrigation pipe (1) is made from a strip of (2) of flexible opaque plastics material. This is pierced along the longitudinal axis and the water distribution nozzles (3,4) fixed in by staking or riveting on one side. The longitudinal edges (2a,2b) are brought together by folding the material and a seam is formed by heat welding. If required, a loose band (8) is fixed over each nozzle at the same time to act as a baffle. The nozzles are made from brass or zinc to inhibit bacterial growth, the opaque material also preventing growth in the pipe. The seam forms a flange useful for positioning.</p> |
