Lifting and tipping mechanism for bins - has bins raised over side of lorry to tip contents

The boom (50) is pivoted over the top of the lorry to swing out over the side. A winch (33) raises the bin (42) from the ground or from a sunken site, and hoists it to a collar (35) at the end of the boom. The collar grips the top and one side of the bin and enables it to be tipped about a horizontal axis (37) at the end of the boom. The lifting and tipping mechanism occupies a minimum of space on the lorry. It can be fitted to any open top lorry and allows lidded bins to be raised and tipped with a minimum of effort, single handed.
