Cpds. (I) are prepd. by reacting phthalic anhydride with HOYCH2NH2 to give (II), reacting (II) with X2SO, heating (III) produced with (IV) to give (V) and heating (V) with NH2NHOH to give (I). (where X is halogen, Y is CO or CH2, R1 is H, alkyl or alkaryl, R2 and R3 are H, alkyl, MeO, EtO, N-contg. residue or halogen, R4 is -O, =NH or =N.NH2).
