Multiple milling tool with several sets of cutters - consists of hollow spindle with peripheral penetrations carrying inward pointing cutting blades

The tool is designed for the simultaneous machining of several journal surfaces like those on crankshaft (K) consisting of surfaces (108, 110, 112, 114). The housing (106) encloses all four surfaces and is fitted to a hollow milling spindle by set of bolts (114). The housing has a set of peripheral penetrations (124). On both sides of the penetrations the housing is fitted inside with two sets of cutters. Cutters (116) serve for the machining of the pin (110). The other set of cutters has blades (120) or (122). Each cutter has three hardened tips of different radii and they serve for machining surfaces (108, 112 and 114). The housing (106) is provided with longitudinal grooves (118) in which the shafts of the cutters are retained by wedges. For the simultaneous machining of surfaces (130, 132, 134 and flange 136) another similarly designed housing (106) with sets of cutters is provided.
