<p>The deflector is made in two parts, a square base plate stuck or screwed to the ski, and a hollow plastic cap (2) held to the base plate by a screw (3). This screw has a coin-sized slot, so that the cap can be removed for packing the skis. The cap has no openings for ski or ski-stick to catch in. Its inner side is steep and ribbed (2a); the other sides have gentler slopes and are smooth. A> well as keeping the skis from getting crossed, the deflectors act as vibration dampers in fast skiing by means of an energy-absorbing rubber collar placed under the head of each fastening screw (3). The unit is designed for injection moulding in plastic.</p> |
