[Also in Division H2] A resilient fastener formed from a single strip of material comprises an apertured web 13 and two arms 11, 12 extending therefrom, one of the arms 11 being provided with an inwardly directed elbow 17 so as to form with the web and the other arm 12 a portion of generally R-shape and the other arm being provided with support engaging means, wherein the one arm 11 is formed with an aperture 21, Fig. 4 (not shown), extending through the elbow 17 thereof of greater width than the aperture 20 in the web and wherein the aperture 20, Fig. 4 (not shown) in the web and the aperture 21 in the one arm are joined by a continuous slot 22 (Fig. 2 (not shown). As shown in Figs. 4 and 5 a circular aperture 19 is provided adjacent the free end of the arm 11 and the support engaging means is constituted by a pronged U-shaped extension of the arm 12. In use, for supporting a sheathed cable on a support, the cable is threaded through the aperture, is snap-engaged through the slots and the arm then lifted to allow the sheath to abut the side edges of the slot and the inner face of the web. In another arrangement, Fig. 7 (not shown) a slot extends between the apertures 19 and 21. In a similar arrangement, Fig. 8 (not shown) the slot extends to the free end of the arm. In a further arrangement, Figs. 9 to 12 (not shown) the pronged U-shaped extension extends transversely of the arms. |
