Ultrasonic denture cleaner comprises a tank containing cleaning liquid, a transducer assembly for transmitting ultrasonic vibrations to the tank, and a housing lid (20) for closing the tank. The lid comprises an outlet (27-29) to control liq. temp. The outlet pref. comprises at least one lid opening (27) of limited surface area through which steam can escape at a controlled rat, and a sliding member (28) attached to the lid adjacent to the opening. Alternatively, the lid may comprise a downwardly extending edge portion which fits over the housing and covers the tank, at least one cut-out acting as an outlet.
