Arrangement for locked storage of an object, especially a firearm on a fixed storage space. Part of the arrangement ensures that the firearm cannot be used even if it is removed from the storage space. The firearm blocking mechanism can be used, without modification, for different firearms. The lock consists of two flat components (1, 2) one of which accommodates lock with key and the other one acts as clamping piece. These two components are brought into contact by sandwiching part of the firearm between them for preventing functioning of the firearm. The lock can be released only by using a key. The clamping piece is fixed on the storage space. The clamping piece can be removed from its fixed position only after the lock section (1) has been detached.
