A fisherman's knot drive derives from two driving racks mounted on a common arm, meshing with finger pinions. The finger drive simplifies knotting head changing and opposes dust entry. Knotting heads (4) carry fingers (5) rotatable in holders (59) contour recessed (60) for blade actuation. A pinion (64) engages a drive rack (38) mounted in a socket (39) on an arm (40). The racks are adjustable in the sockets and held by screws (41). When unlocked the fingers can be turned, setting a rack for precise loop release from the fingers at point of thread severance.
