The magnetic tape storage of broad-band signals uses magnetic heads arranged on rotating wheel. The magnetic heads scan the tape in parallel tracks at an angle to the direction of tape movement. A playback head is placed on the circumference of the head wheel. A recording head is placed in front of each playback head in the direction the head wheel is rotating and scans the same track. The tip of the recording head is wider than that of the play-back head. The information is stored on a number of parallel track sections of the magnetic tape.
