The compander has high accuracy even at the limits of its transfer characteristics. It consists of a compresser comprising an amplifier with a multiplier in its negative feedback path. The AC output voltages of the compresser are applied to both inputs of the multiplier. The expander has an identical multiplier in its voice path. The expander's output voltages are applied to both inputs of this multiplier. One expander or compressor output voltage is applied via a rectifier and time constant circuit to one of the inputs of the multiplier.
