13-Thiaprostenoic acid derivatives and their physiologically tolerated salts of formula I <IMAGE> wherein the symbols R<1> to R<3>, m and n are defined as in Claim 1 and a wavy line ( &tilde& ) indicates that these bonds may be in the alpha - or beta -position, are prepared by reaction of compounds of formula II <IMAGE> wherein the symbols R<2>, R<3>, m and n are as defined in Claim 1, with compounds of the formula III <IMAGE> wherein the symbols R<1>, R<4> and X are as defined in Claim 1. The compounds of formula I and their physiologically tolerated salts possess valuable pharmacological properties and may be used as pharmaceutical active principles. For example, they influence the function of the corpus luteum, ovum transport through the oviduct, nidation and fertility. Further, for example, anti-hypertensive, vasodilatory, antiphlogistic, diuretic and bronchial spasm-releasing properties, inhibitory properties on gastric juice secretion, platelet aggregation, lipid degradation and noradrenalin liberation, and nasal decongestant properties are encountered.
