The retaining device comprises a contact bar (1), which can be connected to a current source as the cathode and attached to which in an electrically conductive manner there are pressure elements (14), which consist of electrically conductive material, for the temporary connection of the small parts (23) to be treated, especially guiding teeth for weft insertion elements of looms, to the contact bar (1). The pressure elements (14) can each be clamped in a resilient manner against one of the small parts (23) which can be introduced between said elements and the contact bar (1), the pressure elements permitting in each case the respective small part (23) to be pushed in and removed transversely to the longitudinal extent of the contact bar (1). In order to achieve improved current flow, the contact bar (1), in each of its sections opposite the pressure elements (14), is provided with a contact strip (11) which projects from the respective section and forms a seat for the small part (23), which seat faces the respective pressure element (14). The contact bar (1) can be covered with covering elements (2a, 2b), e.g. made from a polytetrafluoroethylene. The retaining device permits rapid attaching and detaching of the small parts. <IMAGE>
