1283329 Insulating pipes EUROPEAN ATOMIC ENERGY COMMUNITY 19 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 26949/71 Heading F2P A heat insulation system for pipes comprises a series of conduit elements, each comprising an inner wall, an outer wall, the gap between the walls being divided into a number of longitudinal spaces which are axially closed at one point. Each element comprises an outer wall 6, an inner wall 5 and a number of metal sheets of 0À1 to 0À2 mm. thickness, corrugated, and welded at their abutting places and to the walls at 9, 10, to form a honeycomb structure. Each element either has a ring welded to the inner and outer walls 5, 6 at the centre of the element or at one end to close the spaces. A series of such elements are contained, axially spaced in a gas flow pipe, wherein the ends of the elements are stepped. The outer wall 6 of each element is welded to the pipe. |
