1420845 Actuating slides REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT 26 Feb 1973 [7 March 1972] 9344/73 Heading B3B A floating nut mounting for a screw 4 and nut 3 mechanism for driving a machine tool element 8, comprises a case 2 in which the nut 3 is mounted, and a tubular member 1 which connects the case 2 to the driven element 8, the tubular member 1 having two spaced sets of slots each set comprising four transverse slots arranged in opposed pairs 1A, 1B in parallel adjacent planes and oriented 90 degrees relative to each other to form at each set of slots a ring portion acting as a flexible coupling, the tubular member 1 being connected at one end to the case 2, e.g. cementing 6, and being itself mounted to the driven element 8 at its other end by screws 7. The mounting allows transverse float of the nut, and axial rigidity is maintained in both axial directions by a stop member 9 which is clamped against the case 2 by a screw ring 10 to pre-stress the case 2 and tubular member 1 against a shoulder 14 on the element 8 after taking up a clearance 15. The stop member 9 includes two oppositely directed pairs of a bearing studs 13 having part spherical end, which allow relative movement of the case 2. In an alternative embodiment a stop member 9 is provided at each end of the mounting between which the case 2 is pre-stressed. |
