<p>Bearing device, esp. for a wide strip rolling mill, where the ends of the work rolls are located via bearings in chocks. Hydraulic appts. uses pistons to force the upper and lower chocks away from each other. The novelty is that each piston has a cavity contg. an elastic envelope filled with gas, the envelope sepg. the gas from the remainder of the cavity. The hydraulic appts. is pref. connected to the piston cavity via a channel which can be closed by a spring-loaded valve. Bearing device is used to prestress the chocks. The prestressing takes up any play that may exist between the rolls. The gas filled envelopes cushion the shock loads imposed on the hydraulic oil systems, e.g. as the wide strip workpiece enters and leaves the mill.</p> |
