1321405 Liquid level control PIERRE GUERIN S A 17 Jan 1972 [20 Jan 1971] 2129/72 Heading G1H In a liquid level control apparatus liquid, such as milk, initially at a level A in a de-gassing tank 8 uncovers an electrode 19 and a pump 3 is stopped so that on opening a valve 20a in a pipe 20 liquid flows from a tank 1 tangentially into an annular space between a screen 13 and the tank 8 to raise the liquid level and cover electrode 19 and cause pump 3 to pump liquid via a non-return valve 4, filters and volumetric counter 6, into a storage tank 2 and a butterfly valve 18 is then gradually opened by a pressure control member 15, in a pressure circuit 16 including a pressure multiplier 17, until the pump 3 reaches a maximum delivery rate at a liquid level B where the valve 18 is gradually closed, if the liquid level falls in the tank 8, and opened, if the liquid level rises. When the tank 1 is empty, in an alternative arrangement in which the tank 1 is connected by a pipe 21 to a pump 22, a variable compression valve 23, a pipe 24 and an inlet 14 to tank 8, the pump 22 is stopped and a compressed air intake 25 is automatically opened to drain pipe 24. If liquid reaches a safety electrode 26 pump 22 is stopped or the pipe 20 closed to prevent overflow from the tank 8. |
