<p>The equipment incorporates means which align the weld seam area between bottom and side wall so that the electrode is directed properly into the gap, which has to be welded to obtain a stable weld zone with adequate depth and correct weld penetration. In the prefd. method alignment is effected by a roller running along the edge of the wall and another roller runner over its circumference, the workpiece being moved past the stationary welding head. The equipment is intended for the mfr. of light metal thin walled heating oil tanks and permits their mass prodn.</p> |
