The object of this method is to measure the absolute humidity of a gas used for drying in dryer designs, the humid gas to be measured, with a temperature of over 100 DEG C, flowing through a measuring tube. The gas whose humidity is to be measured is passed through a measuring tube (7). Into this tube, via a nozzle (10), a precisely defined amount of liquid (W) is sprayed into the gas. Said amount of liquid is chosen in such a way that the enthalpy of the gas to be measured remains virtually unaffected. The temperature of the gas to be measured is measured by two temperature sensors (12, 13) upstream and downstream of the spray-in point; based on these two temperature values, the absolute humidity is calculated. The method is used especially in dryers which are employed to produce and finish various continuous materials having hygroscopic properties. <IMAGE> |
