A cartridge for firing decoy projectiles for protection of an aircraft pursued by a missile has its capacity increased by stacking the projectiles longitudinally. The cartridge becomes longer but retains its initial diameter. the cylindrical cartridge sleeve closed at one end by the cartridge bottom holds a number of elementary projectiles in series carrying a payload which represents a target object. A firing and delay ignition system ignited by an electrical actuator circuit ejects the payload from the elementary projectile. Printed circuits to transmit the electrical ignition control signals are between the sleeve and different elementary projectiles.
