The connecting member is designed to couple together four reinforcing steel rods of the type used in concrete building constructions. The connector is made of plastics and in two parts (11, 12). Each of saucer-shaped form, the lower part 11) having a slightly larger dia. than the upper part (12) so that the latter fits into it. Each part of the connector has cut-out portions and tongues which enable the parts to fit together and also has cut outs which accept the tongued ends of the steel reinforcing rods to enable a cruciform joint to be achieved. The system is adaptable to suit bars of any length.
