<p>The one-family house has more economic use made of the square footage normally associated with this type of building. This is achieved by the provision of another floor (1) consisting of one or more rooms (2) and located underneath the lounge/dining room area (3). The ceiling of the additional room (2) is the floor (4) of the lounge/dining area (3), and this floor is supported by the dividing walls (5) of the additional rooms (2). These walls in turn are supported on jacks (6). The floor can therefore be raised or lowered as required. Access to both room levels (1) is via a common door (7) located near the main entrance door and communicating with a section of hallway which is linked to the rest of the hallway by stairs.</p> |
