<p>Wax is de-oiled by solidifying it in 1/16-1/2" wide vertical spaces between an array of 4"-24" deep vertical plates and then gradually heating it to a temp. at which the lower melting point constituents thereof can drain away, the temp. then being raised to melt the remainder of the wax to allow separate recovery thereof. The technique is particularly applicable to the de-oiling of slack wax resulting from solvent dewaxing of lubricating oil distillates.</p> |
