The sealed flexible parquet floor blocks are made from wooden slats. The slats (1) are joined together by connectors (5) underneath and the top surface is then ground and surface treated. The surface varnish is broken up, the individual slats spaced if so desired and one edge grooved or ridged to fit into or onto the groove or ridge on the adjacent block in the laid floor. The connectors should be wires (5,6), preferably aluminium, pressed into grooves (3,4) machined in block bottom. To produce the blocks the slat is laid on a flat surface to form a first plane of reference, and the as-yet irregular tops of the slats then ground down level to form a second plane of reference.
|
