An arrangement is for flow regulation of a gaseous or fluid medium, in partic. of hot water in a heating element. It has a controlled valve and timing mechanism. It is designed for simple construction without using integrated components of the complete system, e.g. central heating system. The control valve (30) and the timing mechanism (74) are built into a unit which is directly attached to the heating element under spring force. A shaft (28) is turned using a knob (44) against the force of a spring and is coupled to the valve shaft (32). When the shaft is turned to the closed position it is held by a locking bar (58) until released by the key (84) of the timer (74), thus allowing the valve to open.
