<p>The telescopically extensible and retractable seating platform is used in gymnasiums and sports halls. It is designed to be readily accessible from wide upper cantilevered gangway, even when the number of spectator places is increased, at the same time leaving adequate open space for the sports activities. For this purpose the upper gangway cantilever unit (11) is of variable width. It is linked to the telescopic seating stand (10), so as to be at full width when the latter is extended, and at min. width when it is retracted. When extended it is braced against the ground by a row of supports (13) behind the top seating row (12). It may be made up from two mutually adjustable parts. It also provides an adequate emergency escape route.</p> |
