Float switch for tank of liquid - has microswitch in float operated by ball travelling internal L:shaped guideway

The float switch monitors liquid levels in tanks. It consists of a microswitch inside a float and operated by a moving ball. The float (10) is pivoted to a fixed part of the tank and contains an L-shaped guideway (38) for the ball (56). With the float down, the ball is at the end of one arm of the guideway. As the liquid level increases and raises the float, the ball travels across into the other arm of the guideway. It operates the microswitch (36) via a lever (42) protruding into the guideway.
