The X-ray appts. superimposes pictures taken from various perspectives to produce a layered deep display. It has a logarithmic circuit (8) between the scanner (7) and the superimposing storage tube (10), in order to improve picture depths. The X-ray tube (5) intensity, or the gain of the scanning signal, is automatically controlled (13) depending on the scanning signal amplitude. The X-ray tube intensity and/or the gain of a single exposure are adjustable, depending on the scanning signal amplitude at a previous exposure of an adjacent position.
