<p>The saw balde is hooked to the tension rod, and then tightened in its frame by driving a wedge between a stop on the rod and a fixed part of the frame. When the blade is removed, the rod is free to move. To prevent it from sliding back and catching in the frame, and getting bent and twisted, the rod is made flexible at a hinge positioned between the hook that takes the saw blade and the tightening wedge. The rod can be made in two parts, one held by a pin in the forked end of the other. Alternatively, the requisite play is given by pin sliding in a slot.</p> |
