The relay unit snaps onto a U-shaped support rail (2a) and consists of a two-part housing, four or more connection terminals, a yoke, a core (16), an armature (18) and a magnetic coil. The unit can be constructed with a cam (41), a set of contact springs (38) and possible a hand-operated member (40) and a switch position indicator. Alternatively it may have a rocker arm and another set of contact springs. The construction containing the cam etc. allows the unit to be used as a remote switch. The construction containing the rocker allows it to be used as a contactor and/or disconnector.
