In an addition to 2341042 a central heating unit has a storage tank and a pump for the heat transfer medium. Now an additional heat transfer circulating system with a boiler (13) in the heat storage tank (1) is incorporated. Hairpin bent heater tubes are in flow contact with corrugated plates of the evaporator. A circulating pump is fitted to selectively thaw the evaporator plates, or heat the transfer medium in the heat storage tank and thus utilise solar energy to heat the domestic water supply.
