Gas seal for light alloy rotating piston - has carriers and grooves for parallel holding of sealing profiles

The gas seal is used for a light alloy piston in a rotating pison I.C. engine. The engine has trochoidal configuration and each piston corner has sealing profile carrier. The ends of the sealing profile axial carriers have pins for holding sealing profiles. The seal is fitted without machining of the piston and ensures good parallel contact of the sealing profile on the pin for preventing wear. A gap is formed between piston and prismatic sealing profile carrier unde side. The side faces of this sealing profile carrier faching the sealing profile groove form a part of the piston flank. The end faces have a slot into which is inserted ith corner pin whose cross section matches the basic face of the slot. The underside projection of the carrier is held by grubscrews.
