Novel organic phosphorosilicon compounds are silicate of alpha -hydroxyphosphonate prepared by reacting a phosphorous acid triester, a carbonyl compound and a silicon compound containing at least one active chlorine atom and are effective as flame-retarding agent for inflammable high polymers, particularly synthetic resins, synthetic rubbers and paints.
