Controlled vertical feeding of cigarettes - uses feed channel with two conveyor bands which engage end faces of cigarettes

The arrangement is used for transverse feeding of cigarettes in stacks, especially in a vertical direction. It consists of an infeed and discharge unit for the cigarettes, and a feed channel. The arrangement is distinguished by two synchronously driven feeders (2, 3) lying opposite to each other. The feeders grip the cigarettes (18) on their two end faces and move them from the infeed (7) to the discharge (13) unit. The feed channel (1) is arranged vertically. The infeed (7) and discharge (13) units are arranged at different heights and are connected by a vertical feed channel (1). The feeders (2, 3) are flexible conveyor bands whose distance apart is slightly less than the length of the cigarettes.
