Boiler vessel housing a fire box and a system for heating domestic hot water supplies, has tube nest surrounded by cylindrical casing. The fire box system is constructed as a compact unit which may be push fit inserted into a hole in the unit cylindrical casing. The boiler vessel is in the form of a vertical type cylinder which has its lower section pierced by the push fitted fire box unit. The fire box unit may be of angular or cylindrical cross section.
