1473049 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems HOERBIGER FLUIDTECHNIK KG 20 June 1975 [21 June 1974] 26392/75 Heading G3P A pressure regulator having inlet and outlet ports 2, 3 and a main valve 5 actuated by servopiston (or diaphragm) 9 is provided with a compensating spring 20 acting between piston 9 and pilot relief valve 15 such that as main valve 5 opens, the opening bias of the spring on valve 15 is reduced so that the control pressure in chamber 10 above piston 9 increases causing the latter to open main valve 5 further to compensate for the increased pressure losses through the regulator resulting from the higher rate of flow. Additional compensation is achieved by a duct 23 which connects a throat 24 adjacent outlet port 3 with a chamber 11 below piston 9 so that the chamber pressure decreases with increasing flow-rate. Compensating spring 20 may have linear or non-linear characteristics. As shown, the control pressure in chamber 10 is supplied from the regulator inlet 2 via passage 13 and restriction 14, but in a modification the pressure is supplied from a separate source. The output pressure of the regulator is pre-set by adjusting hand wheel 18 to vary the closing bias of spring 17 upon pilot valve 15.
|
