1473416 Titanium aluminium chlorides CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS AG 26 July 1974 [28 July 1973] 33096/74 Heading C1A [Also in Division C3] TriCl 3 .O.5AlCl 3 is prepared by the reaction of titanium tetrachloride with ethyl aluminium sesquichloride in hexane or butane at -5‹ C. The suspension is stirred for 15 hours at -5‹ to 10‹ C., and heated for 6 hours at 150‹ C. and the precipitated catalyst filtered off and washed with butane.
