The filler may be, e.g. zinc dust (for ferrous surfaces) and/or SiO 2 , Fe 2 O 3 or an oxide or silicate of Al, Zr, Zn, Mg, Cr or Ti (to give a ceramic coating). In Example 24 tabular alumina is mixed with a product from ethylene glycol and 'ethyl silicate condensed' in MEK and a trace of fume silica; the paint is applied to a mullite furnace lining, a clay crucible interior and a zinc/silicate primed steel sheet.</p> |
