PURPOSE:To perform successfully the lubrication of a portion whose temperature may rise by performing oil lubrication at a temperature below a specified temperature and solid lubrication at a temperature higher than that temperature with a lubricant consisting of a polyglycol-based lubricating base oil and a fluorocarbon. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant is obtained by mixing a polyglycol-based lubricating base oil comprising polyoxyalkylene glycol represented by formula I (wherein R1-R2 represents hydrogen or 1-18C linear or branched alkyl; R3 represents 2-3C alkylene; and (n) represents 3 to 50) or its ether and 0.1 to 30wt.% fluorocarbon particles of 0.03 to 10mum in particle diameter, which are represented by formula II (wherein (x) is 0.5 to 1.2) and prepared by subjecting carbonaceous material such as natural or synthetic graphite, activated charcoal or coke to a reaction with fluorine or a fluorine-containing compound at a high temperature. The above lubricant is applied to a portion whose temperature may exceed 150 deg.C. When the temperature of that portion is below 150 deg.C, oil lubrication is performed, and when it exceeds 150 deg.C, the polyglycol-based lubricant oil component is decomposed, and solid lubrication is performed with the remaining solid fluorocarbon component. |
