1372768 Bearings KARL SCHMIDT GmbH 2 May 1972 [13 May 1971] 20449/72 Heading F2A A flanged bearing bush having a split in the direction of the axis of the bush and comprising a radial bearing portion with a thrust collar at one end thereof is made from a strip of bearing material of a size corresponding to the final dimensions of the bush and which has recesses in the end which is remote from that which is to carry the collar, the strip being rolled into the shape of the bush, and the flange then being formed by stamping. The bearing material may be a composite of a backing material with a sintered porous liner of bronze impregnated with a synthetic plastics material, e.g. PTFE or an acetal resin. The strip may be formed into a frusto-conical bush, from which the finished bush may be produced by stamping. In a modification the recesses may be replaced by rows of holes. |
