The tubular lamp bracket comprises a U-section base, socket mountings and an arched cover of elastic material engaging with the base by means of lateral ridges. The U- section base is formed by a flat bottom (1), along each of whose edges there runs a flange inclined at an angle appreciably less than 90 deg., bent towards the lengthwise centre line of the base. The edges of the cover (3) can be retained by the outer ridges of the flanges (2). The angle of the latter can be 45 deg. or less, and as an alternative the edges of the flanges can be formed by rounded portions.
