A vessel used to control microbiological processes and to sterilise fluids with germs has, in addn. to a central electrode and a coaxial cylindrical electrode, three more cylindrical electrodes. These are fixed to the bottom plate and have a height which decreases radially outwards. Two other coaxial electrodes attached to the top plate are equidistant from their nearest bottom electrode. The large available areas increase the capacity of the plant. The appts. operate without a risk of flash-overs even in conditions of high humidity. A repeated forced circulation of the fluid to be treated is facilitated and also increases the capacity.
