<p>A plasticising screw comprises a helical profile and a shaft. It rotates inside a heated barrel. The profile entrains the cpd. to be plasticised, in cooperation with the inner wall of the barrel. Specifically, the helical profile is fitted with notches. These notches increase the homogenising efficiency of the machine. The notches have the shape of semi-circular grooves. all of which may subtend and acute angle with a plane extending perpendicularly to the screw axis. The notches may be situated near that end of the screw facing the feedline for the moulding cpd.</p> |
