The express coffee machine has a housing (1) containing a small boiler (2) which feeds the outlet taps (3). The water pump and regulators are at the rear of the housing and shielded by a heat insulated plate (6). The boiler is heated by a gas or electric burner (7). At the front of the housing (1) beneath the taps is a grid which covers a collecting pan (8) at the base of which is an outlet tube for excess liquid. At the top of the housing (1) is a grid (12) on which cups can be stood for drying and heating. This grid (12) stands on a plate (13) which drains away any water from wet cups and at the same time acts as a baffle for the hot gas from the heater (7). These hot gasses are led away through an outlet channel (14) at the rear. All the cups on the top grid (12) are dried and heated to a similar temperature at which none of the cups becomes too hot to handle.
