Lens feeder for template grinder - has feed and recovery pincers which are synchronized with machining clamps

Separate mobile pincers feed and recover the raw and finished lenses. A mobile suction cup feeds raw lenses to the feed pincer during the grinding phase and the action of the feed and recovery pincers is synchronized with that of lense clamps. Piston - cylinder units may be used to effect axial pincer arm motion with guided carriages and transfer units effecting transverse motions. The machine includes lens clamps which are capable of opposed axial displacements and engage the opposed major faces of the workpiece lens. The grinders are mounted on a second parallel drive shaft.
