A ski boot, comprising uppers, a sole and a removable inner shoe leaving >=1 space between the uppers and the foot, is fitted to the foot of a wearer by placing the foot (or a cast of it) into the inner shoe, the hollow space being filled with a deformable compsn. which is maintained in liq., viscous or pasty state by means of >=1 volatile matl., and removing >=1 volatile substance by converting it into a gas, until the compsn. is hardened. The process avoids handling, use of toxic substances, painful compression of the wearer's foot by too much expanding foam and possible scalding during the fitting. The process is rapid, simple and accurate.
|
