Fabric edges are consolidated at high speed - without solvent pollution by applying a quick setting molten polymer

The edges of a knitted, woven, or non-woven fabric are consolidated by applying a line of melted polymer. Pref. the polymer solidifies within 1-2 seconds after it has been applied. The edges of a fabric can be easily consolidated at high throughout speeds e.g. up to 120 m/min. Unlike solvent based adhesives presently used there is no solvent to be evaporated off and pollute the surrounding environment.
